First footsteps

I started to walk again.
To all of you, that might seem like nothing. No big deal...
But to me, it is.
I have been in bed for about 2 weeks now. I was unable to move on my own.
Yesterday things changed. I was able to take a few steps on my own.
I could walk without help.
I cannot walk a lot. It still does hurt a little, but every step makes me feel so much better. Makes me feel a little closer to a complete recovery.

Feels funny to celebrate footsteps when you're 27....
I think I am happier now celebrating these than when i was celebrating the first footsteps I took 26 years ago.

Hey Italian Guy,
Yeah.. crazy huh? Well, things happened pretty fast. The 3 posts pretty much tell it all.
Back was killing me. I went to the hospital and as soon as the doctor saw me he said I needed surgery NOW.
He said the disc had completely slid out from between the 2 vertebrae and was now pressing hard on the nerve. so, he went in and fixed it. Now I am just trying to get better so I can walk... and fly back to Egypt.
Yeah, i feel really lucky that it happened here. Only God knows how things would have played out had it happened there.

Luli,
Yay!! I am so happy for you! These small victories feel so good, don't they!!
Can you talk now? I want to call you.. but I want to do it when it will not hurt you!
